The Poetic Body Yoga Studio-
Yoga for the Rhythm of Life
Kimberly I began my yoga practice in 2004 and fell in love with it immediately. What started out as a way to regain my physical health and limber body became a passageway to a more peaceful life. Having been a dancer for years my body was yearning to leave the weight room behind and fulfill its need to flow, twist, bend and turn upside down. The emphasis yoga places on breath left me refreshed, and the calm I found within made me want to share the experience with others. In 2008, I was fortunate enough to receive my Yoga Teacher Training with Shiva Rea at the Samudra School for Living Yoga in Venice Beach, California. Shiva is a world-renowned yogi who developed the Vinyasa Flow style of yoga that so many people practice today. My desire to understand the body more thoroughly has led me to my current studies with Tiffany Cruikshank's Yoga Medicine for my 500 Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training. I believe in the vision that yoga postures along with breath work and meditation can be used to heal the body, like medicine, and am excited to pass along all that I have been taught. Being a good teacher requires you to be an inquisitive student and I continue to broaden my knowledge by studying with many others such as; Tias Little, Aadil Palkhivala and Ana Forrest.
My home studio, The Poetic Body, opened in 2013 and I have loved sharing this space with the community. I am currently the yoga instructor for the CSU Men's Golf Team and can also be found teaching each year at the Breathe Yoga Festival, International Yoga Retreats and various Christian Women's Retreats. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work degree from Colorado State University to be of service to others and I believe that instructing yoga is yet another way to fulfill that desire. Come join me as we bring yoga to North Fort Collins, LaPorte and Wellington. I am so honored to open my home to you.
